A message from the Managing Director

CT Management Group has provided professional services for 25 years remotely through a flexible, professional Associate workforce.

We know that this symbiotic relationship is effective, predominantly due to the dedication and commitment of our Associates and the support of our professional staff.

We cannot thank our Associates enough for your commitment during the COVID 19 pandemic in terms of maintaining the connections with the Councils and providing them with ongoing professional support.

The relationships CT Management Group has with our Councils is predominantly due to the quality, experience, and wisdom of our Associates.

With the “lockdown constraints” reducing in NSW and Victoria we can only hope our community can get back to normal living or at least the “new normal” as seems to be the current idiom!

What does the “new normal” potentially mean for CT Management Group?

  • Councils are continuing to request vaccination status with respect to Associates attending their premises – we believe this will continue into the future, so please advise us of your vaccination status. Please email kerriep@ctman.com.au advising of your status through provision of your vaccination certificate or medical exemption.
  • “Working from anywhere” capability has improved significantly as a result of the pandemic. Where practicable we will continue to appoint Associates to projects and placements and continue this practice.
  • We anticipate the wearing of masks, social distancing, crowd limitations and vaccination requirements to enter premises may remain a permanent feature of the post COVID landscape.
  • We have moved our IT environment to a digital platform which has improved our capability to collaborate, communicate and deliver projects and placements to our clients.
  • The CT Connect environment will continue as a collaborative environment enabling us to work closely with our Associates on joint project efforts predominantly in the building condition assessment area, service planning, long term financial plans and asset management.
  • We will soon be asking our Associates to input daily timesheets to assist our project management. This will mean our Associates will be required to log onto our web site and enter your time into your electronic timesheet. Trials will be held over the coming month, and we will “go live” at a future point in time. We will at the end of the month send you a reciprocal invoice to save you having to prepare and email your account – more details to come.
  • Associate training will be commencing in February 2021 in particular in our Asset Management, Service Planning and Financial Management areas. We have developed products and processes to address consultancy assignments and need to train our Associates in our methodologies to assist meet demand in these professional service areas.
  • We will be continuing our investment in our ICT Digital First strategy with a focus on engagement of our clients and prospects through this digital medium.

Prior to the pandemic, the technology allowing many people to work from home existed — but very few took it up.

HILDA data show that, in 2019, around 8% of employees had a formal work‑from‑home arrangement and worked a median of 1 day per week from home. Overall, around 2% of total hours were worked from home.

Census data from 2016 also suggests that a small proportion of workers (5%) worked from home instead of commuting on census day.

The COVID‑19 pandemic forced many workers and firms — up to 40% of workers to experiment with working from home.

While the stay‑at‑home orders that forced this experiment are gradually easing across the eastern seaboard, the level of working from home is likely to remain much higher than it was pre pandemic.

CT Management Group Board will be considering the future of our office premises and the rationale of retention, or the introduction of a hybrid flexible model – more news next edition.

We can only adapt to the “new normal” and continue to deliver and remain relevant to the market we serve.

We will continue to evolve in this changing environment and remain relevant to our clients.

Michael Courtney
