A Message from the Executive Director | Managing Director – October 2025

Michael Courtney – Executive Director | Managing Director

Thank you to all Associates who attended our recent Associates Day in Geelong. It was a fantastic day, with a broad range of speakers and valuable discussions that reflected the strength and depth of our Associate network.

Your feedback highlighted a strong desire for more time to connect – so we’re pleased to confirm that we’ll be hosting dedicated networking events in 2026, with the first planned for February. These sessions will provide time to reconnect, share ideas, and strengthen professional relationships across the CT Management Group community.

In today’s hybrid environment, where so much of our collaboration happens online, taking time for face-to-face connection has never been more valuable.

Current Projects and Opportunities

Alf Della Monica – National Project Manager

The current economic climate for local government in Australia is challenging, with significant financial sustainability issues, increased demand on services and the flow on affect in maintaining assets all impacted by reduced revenue due to rate caps and cost of living issues meaning reduced spending and resource gaps.

While this may come across as doom and gloom, it provides companies like CT Management Group great opportunities to provide assistance to those clients in need and at the same time building capacity and capabilities of councils from Queensland to Tasmania. To do this, we need to continue to pivot, build our own capabilities, especially in the digital space, and to continue to promote our fantastic pool of experienced and expert Associates.

Leisure, Sport, Recreation & Community Consultation

Jarrod Bryant – Principal – Sport, Recreation and Community Consultation

During the last quarter CT Management Group has been focused on continuing to pursue projects and other opportunities in the Sport, Recreation & Community Consultation space. Examples of the types of projects that we have made submissions for includes the following:

Service Reviews across our key function areas. Community Consultation projects across various types of projects. Open Space, Recreation and Sportsground Asset Condition Assessments. Recreation and Open Space Strategy recommendations and initiatives delivery. Community Infrastructure Planning and Reviews. Strategic Plan Peer Reviews.

The above is a representation of the types of projects that we are interested in, among others.

Peter joined CT Management Group as An Associate in January 2022. We welcome Peter’s contribution to the company and this month we learn a little more about Peter and what drew him to CT Management Group.

1.    We value your contribution to CT Management Group; what drew you to becoming a consultant?

I very much enjoy the work associated with Project Management with its many layers of requirements from inception to delivery. The variety and sometimes complexity of the work provides satisfaction and positive outcomes to the benefit of an organization and/or its recipients.

2.    What is your specialist area, and why are you interested in that field?

Reflecting on Associates Day 2025

Caitlin Kirby – National Placement Manager

What a pleasure it was to come together for this year’s Associates Day – to reconnect, celebrate, and reflect on what our Associate network has achieved since our last gathering two years ago.

In my presentation, I shared a snapshot of CT Management Group’s continued positive impact across the sectors we serve. Together, we’ve delivered major infrastructure and asset management projects, governance and finance reforms, strategic planning initiatives, operational uplifts, and organisational reviews – all contributing to stronger, more sustainable clients.

Over the past couple of years, CT has supported more than 60 councils and government agencies across four states, delivering over 200 individual project and placement engagements.
