Q&A – Associate Graeme Taylor

Q&A provides an interesting insight to our Associates who are working in their own business sometimes after many years of permanent employment. This is Graeme’s story:

After 20 years working for Government, what drew you to becoming a consultant?

The continual cycles of restructure and then another restructure, change for change’s sake with no real perceived benefit and a lack of leadership within the executive ranks of the Public Service. I started thinking life must be more fulfilling on the other side…….and I was correct!!!

What is your specialist area, and why are you interested in that field?

I specialise in fire and emergency management, with an area of focus being bushfire risk and protection of communities, assets and the environment.

Building Condition Assessments & Maintenance Review

CT Management Group’s Building Condition Assessment & Maintenance Review is a service that ensures building maintenance priorities align with community’s needs while meeting Asset Management requirements. It provides management with updated building portfolio assessment making it possible to address condition and maintenance issues.

The review improves customer service by determining ‘hot spots’ through spatial integration, improving works planning and enhancing Asset Management through more accurate and frequent data collection.

Rohan Crowe recently completed inspections of Campaspe Shire’s assets and indicated that he is enjoying building condition assessment projects as it extends the knowledge he has gained over many years in the building industry.

FAST Panel Program on lookout for opportunities for Associates

CT Management Group is one of only 10 companies to enter into agreement with the Victorian State Government to assist in improving the financial sustainability of Victorian local governments, particularly in rural and regional Victoria.

While we’ve always been there to assist Council in achieving sustainability, with the impact of rate capping well and truly now being felt and CT Management Group is actively looking to increase the number of Projects and Associates working with Councils.

Input from Associates is key to identifying new projects as well as Councils that are investigating how best to achieve financial efficiencies and sustainability.
