VIC/TAS Associates Day – 9 November 2018

Our Associates Day at Waurn Ponds Estate was a day of reflection and invigoration with the launch of the new CTMG brand and an array of guest speakers. Associates, Alliances and Council CEO’s and CTMG staff were welcomed by our Chairman Hon. Jeff Kennett AC.

Our Chairman opened the Day by launching a new brand for the company which he believed indicated the “trust “ he felt the new brand embodied between CTMG, its staff, clients and Associates. “I strongly believe our brand is reflected in our reputation that has been developed by the expertise, competency, dedication and consistency of our Associate team.”

Major Project – Southern Grampians Flood Recovery

Managing Director, Michael Courtney and Regional Manager Vic/Tas, Malcolm McKenzie took time out recently when visiting Western Victoria, to catch up with the team delivering Flood Recovery Work at Southern Grampians.

The 7-strong team of Associates lead by our Associate, Paula Gardiner are delivering $35m in recovery works following the March 2017 floods. It was a great opportunity to catch up with the team and find out more about the challenges of the project and get to know some of our newer Associates. Also included was some of our Associates working on the Hindmarsh flood recovery project.

 

Graduate Placement Experience – Deakin University

Ben Cram will graduate from Deakin University in 2019 with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering. Ben is currently working as a placement with CT Management Group under the supervision of Associate Adam Lehmann.

Ben is engaged on a FAST Asset Management Project at Golden Plains Shire and is part of CT Management Group’s strategy of linking with Deakin University to enable placement and workplace experience.

 

 

 

 

 

 Another one of our Deakin University placements Included in the team at Southern Grampians, is Ryan Bedggood. Ryan is quickly learning some of the finer points of project management and contractor supervision; valuable skills he will take with him as he goes on to graduate with his Bachelor of Civil Engineering in 2019.

Graham Jarvis – Associate, recently appointed Regional Manager Queensland

Graham has recently accepted the appointment of Regional Manager, Queensland and will commence with CT Management Group late January 2019 working 3 days a week from his home base in Mackay, Queensland.

Graham is a public-sector executive with fourteen years’ experience with the Queensland State Government and five years in local government.

Graham is a certified CPA, has a Bachelor of Applied Science and a Graduate Diploma in Public Health and is a past executive Director of the Whitsunday Regional Council.

In his new role Graham will support Owen Harvey (Executive Director) in:

Researching and developing new clientele in Queensland Assist in managing Associates and teams in placements and projects Contribute to the development of CTMG’s products Implement the requirements of the Qld Regional Marketing Plan

Amar Singh – Senior Associate, heading up NZ Business in 2019

CT Management Group has appointed Senior Associate Amar Singh to lead the company in facilitating business growth in the New Zealand market.

Amar has over 35 years’ experience in local government, private infrastructure, and asset management planning. He has extensive experience in developing policies, strategies and plans, alongside business development, value engineering management, developing contribution plans and capacity development.

He also has extensive experience and technical knowledge in total infrastructure management planning across wide range of industries including: ports; transport; water & wastewater; stormwater; parks; power & gas; IT; fleet; and plant & property. He has a working knowledge of strategic management planning (SMP); project management; programming; risk management; infrastructure valuation; asset registers; and systems needs analysis & implementation.

Demographic Shifts to Our Population – The next 20 years and impact on Councils – Phil Ruthven

Phil Ruthven AM and Founder of IBISWorld and the Ruthven Institute, was a Guest Speaker at the recent Associates Day held by CT Management Group. Phil made a presentation to the group on “Demographic Shifts to Our Population – The next 20 years and impact on Councils”.

Phil contributes regularly to radio, TV, newspapers, magazines and documentaries on business, economic and social issues. He continues to be one of Australia’s most frequent and prolific commentators in demand by the media, and is widely considered the nation’s most respected strategist and futurist on business, social and economic matters. Phil has kindly made his presentation to the Associates Day available for download.

Rate Capping in Victoria – Andrew Chow

Andrew Chow a consultant in the local government sector, and former Director of Local Government with the Essential Services Commission, was a Guest Speaker at the recent Associates Day held by CT Management Group. Andrew made a presentation to the group on “Rate Capping in Victoria”.

Andrew has also previously headed up the economic regulation in gas, electricity, water and transport at various times within the Commission. Andrew has extensive public and private sector experience covering senior roles in strategic microeconomic reforms with the Victorian Government as well as advisory work with an international investment bank. Andrew has kindly made his presentation to the Associates Day available for download.

The Chairman, Directors and Staff of CT Management Group are pleased to announce that on the 9 November 2018, CT Management Group launched a new branding signifying a new beginning with a fresh modern and clean look.
